“ Hands down, the BEST Mexican food I have had the pleasure of eating. Employees were friendly and attentive. I will definitely be coming back to this quaint little restaurant in the future. We ate about half of the freshly made chicharones before I took the pictures. ”
“ I absolutely Guajillo’s on the island!! So nice to find real Mexican food (without the Tex). The quality and portions are amazing not to mention the service and atmosphere. My favorite starter is their guacamole with chips and their salsa is like no other: Tangy, and sooo flavorful! For entrees we love: the Green Chilaquiles with chicken, Enmoladas, because who doesn’t love mole and don’t sleep on the Cochinita Pibil. *Chefs Kiss* We also always order the red pozole to go, for breakfast the next day and it just hits the spot! Such kind people, such good food. We been 3 weekends in a row and it never disappoints. Bonus is their Michaela with a Pacifico. I can’t wait to go back! ”
“ If you’re within driving distance of this place, you’re lucky because I’m four hours away, and it’s the only downside to my visit. This restaurant has the best salsa I’ve ever had—so good that the waiter called it “liquid gold” and wouldn’t tell me what was in it. Whatever it is, it’s worth the trip alone, and thankfully, they sell it in to-go cups (the 12-ounce cup I grabbed should last me a few days, but I already regret not buying more). For the main course, I had the pork in pepper sauce, and my wife ordered the green chicken enchiladas. Both dishes were nothing short of amazing. The flavors were rich and authentic, with the beans tasting fresh and like actual beans, which was a pleasant surprise compared to what you get at most places. I only wish I lived closer because I could easily eat here several times a week. Highly recommend this place. ”

“ Such a cute authentic Mexican restaurant. The menu items are very unique. The pork shank was really incredible and the green chile enchiladas were also great. The chips and salsa are good and the salsa is very spicy. You won’t find tacos and typical Tex-Max but if you want authentic dishes, you will like this place. ”
“ SIgn says Mex without the Tex; accurate. Authentic Mexican food. We really enjoyed ourselves, 3 x Micheladas with Bohemia, mug well chilled, salted. Appetizer was chips and salsa; the salsa is NOT tomato based, relatively spicy like we like it. Additional appetizer was Guacamole with fried pork rinds. Entrees was Shrimp Tostadas, their award winning pork and a beef plate that I can't recall the name. Photos and not "beautiful" but the food was excellent. This is in our wheelhouse for authentic Mexican. I would/will go back. ”
“ I saw an article about this being the third best restaurant in the state, so of course we had to try it. It was very good! I love authentic Mexican food. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I am not going to try to butcher the names of the dishes that we got, but they were both amazing! I was warned that the shrimp dish was on the spicier side, but I tried it anyway. It wasn't too spicy for me. In fact, I think my husband's dish was a bit spicier. The salsa was different than any I've had before and was very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this place! I also overheard that they do have a vegetarian menu and everything is gluten-free. We encountered multiple staff members, and they were all very pleasant and caring. We will definitely be back ”
